AN INSPIRATIONAL GoFundMe appeal for Rhiann Breen  – an incredibly brave young mum. from Wales. with terminal cancer who realised she would need to tick off her bucket list at home, as she fears the coronavirus pandemic will see her live out her final days in isolation.

Rhiann Breen, 31, of Newport in Wales, first felt a lump in her left breast while looking at a bruise caused by her son Max, who had jumped on her while they were playing. She never imagined it would be something serious. But in August 2019, when she was still breastfeeding her daughter Isobel, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Rhiann underwent aggressive courses of chemotherapy and radiotherapy but the cancer spread to her lungs, bones and brain. In March 2020 she was told she had three to four months to live.

I worked closely with Rhiann and her friend Kate who set up the fundraising appeal to secure national coverage. Fortunately the Press Association Real Life Team was keen to cover and the page went across multiple online national titles.

Online community rally behind mum of two with incurable cancer who  will have to self isolate for what may be the rest of her life…

Key Results:

Over 14 articles secured including the Mail online, The Mirror , Metro, Wales Online, Cardiff Western and MSM

To date, the appeal has now raised over £20,000 and has been shared over 1.6k
