Coronavirus Appeal

A memorial appeal for the family of Thomas Harvey who ‘devoted his life’ to the NHS. The London healthcare support worker and father of seven  died in self-isolation after coming down with a suspected case of coronavirus from an infected patient.

The healthcare assistant at Goodmayes Hospital in Ilford, north London, spent weeks ‘fighting for his life’ after developing severe symptoms of Covid-19, his family said. The 57-year-old collapsed on his way to the bathroom on Sunday morning,

His son then had to punch down the bathroom door to reach his dad who died gasping for air before calling the police who had to break down the door  to retrieve his body.

A GoFundMe fundraiser set up by a family friend said: ‘Thomas was a devoted member of the NHS for over 20 years and loved his job to the fullest.
