The heartfelt appeal for Greg Gilbert the singer and guitarist of Southampton indie band Delays, who was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer raised over £100,000 in just days.

I worked closely with Greg and his partner Stacey from the start of the campaign and secured extensive coverage across the national and regional press. The page was also featured twice in the Telegraph.
 
The GoFundMe page continues to raise funds and is now close to its £250,000 goal. I have stayed in touch with the couple.

Greg Gilbert, father. husband and frontman with British indie rock band Delays, sadly died of bowel cancer at the age of 44. He was diagnosed in 2016, and documented his illness in poetry, visual art and on social media. In August 2021, he announced he had stopped taking treatment and was only using pain relief and died in September 2021 surrounded by loved one’s. My heart goes out to Stacey and the family…
