A scaffolder left paralysed after a trampoline accident has tragically died in the arms of his loved ones.

Rob Harcourt sustained “catastrophic” injuries after he tripped and fell into a trampoline at a friend’s house. The freak accident led to the 37-year-old from Stockton, Durham, suffering a dislocated neck and kinked spinal cord.

He had to go undergo major surgery after doctors found fluid in his brain but, despite the efforts of medics, his family were informed that he would not recover.

I contacted the fundraisers to offer support and place the appeal in the press. The appeal has since been featured in over 100 media titles including The Daily Mail, The Sun, Sunday Mirror, The Daily Express, Wales Online, ITV.

His partner Jade Higgins has since announced the bittersweet news that she is expecting her second child with Rob and is a number of weeks pregnant.
