GoFundMe appeal launched for a Truro woman literally starving to death who needed life-saving treatment abroad.

Nicolette Baker was diagnosed with Superior Mesenteric Artery syndrome (SMAS) nearly a decade ago – a condition which means that her Superior Mesenteric artery is compressing on her duodenum and kidney – causing her unimaginable pain when she tries to eat and leaving her weighing just three stone.

I worked closely with Nicolette to share her campaign and after media support the appeal smashed it’s original target.

The appeal was featured in The Sun Online, The US Sun, The Sunday Mirror and a range of Cornish tiles including the Packet, The Cornishman and Cornwall Live.

UPDATE

Tragically Nicolette died hours before being able to have her lifesaving operation. Our thoughts are with her family.

Her friend James said

“This wonderful soul was so close to having the operation that could have improved her life, but sadly it was not to be. Nicolette’s family would like me to pass on their enormous thanks to each and every one of you for the kindness and support that you showed Nicolette it gave her something that she had not had for some time … hope. She also felt such love from people across the world your messages and kind donations meant so much to her.”

Nicolette was delighted with our support and sent some lovey feedback. She will now be able to access the urgent medical treatment she so desperately needs.

Feedback

“Oh dearest Jane. Thank you for taking the time to send me your thoughts. You have such a heart Jane. And I feel so rich to have gotten to know you through this my recent media experience. Please do stay in touch”

“Without your support none of this would have been identified and as I must bore you by now saying it over and over, but I really couldn’t be more grateful for you. Please, as we hold each other in our circle of star sparkling light and energy, and I absorb your pure love and compassion, know that my heart is dancing passionately with a love that can only be felt through this embrace. So please, connect with it. I need you to feel just how thankful I am”
