A HEARTFELT GoFundMe appeal to fund a ‘Safe Space’ for refugee mothers and babies in the notorious Moira Refugee Camp in Greece was backed by Lena Headey, aka Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones and friends of the star both on and off the hit TV show.
Known as the worst refugee camp on earth, with a capacity of 3,100 and a population of 9,000, Moria Camp is one of the most desolate and dangerous places on the planet and many adults and children have attempted suicide here because of the terrible overcrowding, squalor and seeming hopelessness.
I discovered the appeal trending online and helped elevate awareness in the national media. The appeal quadrupled it’s total after media support.
