Billy Monger’s crowdfunding campaign was created to help the 17-year-old F4 driver overcome life changing injuries, after being involved in one of the most horrific crashes Motorsport has ever seen. Billy, who had a promising racing career, needed to have both legs amputated after the televised crash.

The appeal touched the heart of the nation, became an instant online sensation and one of the largest and fastest personal crowd-funding pages in the history.  Exceeding most records along the way.

I managed the PR for the campaign notifying the media about Billy’s double leg amputation and the fundraising campaign. It quickly generated blanket press coverage across the national print and broadcast press and sports media.

Hope after one of the worst crashes Motorsport has ever seen…
